The number of infections in New York City jumped by more than 1,000 cases in a matter of hours — since Thursday morning when Gov. Andrew Cuomo said there were 2,469 infections in the city.
"In the last 24 hours, we had 126 new COVID-19 cases, a 21 percent increase. In some parts of our state, our case rate is doubling every four days," Newsom wrote in a letter dated Wednesday.
