Mother’s Day rolls around again Sunday and it’s always such a sweet holiday – but for those of us who have lost our moms, it holds a hint of melancholy as well.
President Trump is entitled to serve out his first term and entitled to run for re-election, whether the Democrats like it or not. It’s time for the endless Democratic attempts to obstruct the will of American voters to stop.
Let’s make something absolutely clear. There is no crisis in Washington, constitutional or otherwise, apart from the Democrats’ increasing detachment from reality.
When Congress uses its contempt power, there are basically three avenues it can pursue for purposes of enforcement. In the case of the House Judiciary Committee’s party-line vote to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt – for purportedly failing to produce a report he has actually produced – Democrats, who control the House, will use the route that is most political and, thus, least credible: the unilateral congressional procedure.
The latest pseudo-scandal over President Trump’s taxes is that he apparently took more losses than almost anyone in the country three decades ago — and by doing so, escaped the Internal Revenue Service’s clutches.
I remember. Seven years ago Democrats had the opportunity to right the very wrongs they so sincerely decried in a House Judiciary Committee hearing this week.
Progressives may be getting most of the media attention, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., seems committed to keeping this small yet vocal group within the House Democratic caucus in check.
