On Tuesday the American people will learn two things from Georgia’s Senate runoffs. One is whether Donald Trump, amid all his election controversies, can rally his troops in numbers sufficient to put Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue over the top. The other is whether Joe Biden has any coattails.
Just when it seemed the president was roadkill and about to be abandoned by his own party, growing numbers of GOP members of Congress are signing on to a last-ditch effort to challenge the election results.
If Democrats hold a Senate majority, Biden should be able to make progress on key issues like the economy, health care, immigration and climate change.
There’s an old saying in horse racing that “you’ve gotta be a mudder” who can run on a sloppy track in order to win the big races. We were all mudders in 2020.
When you look at the issues and what’s at stake in the two races on the Georgia ballot, it’s clear that Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are the candidates who deserve to be elected.
